Body
Issued on January 22, 2023, in Homestead, Florida, this Priority Mail stamp is the latest to feature the Florida Everglades. The digital illustration by Dan Cosgrove presents a classic Everglades scene at sunset, with a cypress dome, a great egret, a great blue heron, an American alligator, and roseate spoonbills. This stamp is part of the American Landmarks series and highlights the Everglades as a national treasure. The issuance in Homestead, a city on the eastern border of Everglades National Park, reinforces the geographical and cultural connection between the urban and wild landscapes of South Florida. The stamp serves as a beautiful reminder of the complex and stunningly beautiful ecosystem that lies just to the west of Miami.
